AMS 5525 S66286 Stainless Steel Round Bar High Strength and Oxidation Resistance
A precipitation hardening stainless steel, UNS S66286 maintains
superior strength at high temperatures
up to 700°C, surpassing austenitic stainless steels. With a higher
nickel content than Type 304, NAS 660
also includes such elements as titanium and aluminum for hardening.
Age hardening is used to precipitate ’ phase [Ni3 (Al, Ti)] making
this an extraordinarily strong metal at high temperatures.
A-ONE ALLOY supplies S66286 in forms of wire rod, round bar, hex bar, forging and so on.
We specially keep stock for customers from fastner industry. Please contact us for stock information.
S66286 is one of the most popular special stainless steel(superalloy) used. It maintains good strength and oxidation resistance at temperatures up to 1300ºF(704°C)
Becasue of it's high strength and excellent fabrication characteristics A286 is widely used in various components of aircraft and industrial gas turbines. It is also used in the offshore oil and gas industry where the components are subject to high levels of heat and stress.

Advantages
Applications
Heat treatment
S66286 is a precipitation hardening alloy. Its strength is
increased through aging after solution heat treatment. Two stages
of heat treatment are generally carried out, as follows:
Solution heat treatment: 980°C; oil or water cooling
Age hardening: 720°C × 16hr; air cooling
After solution heat treatment, either oil or water cooling is
required, though air cooling is better for thinner metal. Note that
it is important to use a suitable temperature and holding time for
aging to obtain the target strength.
